Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Lead / ServiceNow APM SME with strong functional and technical expertise in ServiceNow Application Portfolio Management (APM) and proven project management capabilities.

The successful candidate will serve as the ServiceNow APM functional and technical authority, driving application portfolio governance, standardization, optimization, data quality, and lifecycle management initiatives. This role will work closely with Enterprise Architects, Application Owners, Business Stakeholders, Security Teams, Technology Leaders, and senior management to provide actionable insights that support technology modernization, cost optimization, risk reduction, and improved application health.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and provide SME expertise for the ServiceNow APM module, including functional and technical capabilities.
- Own and drive Application Portfolio Management (APM) processes, governance, standards, and best practices.
- Define and implement application lifecycle management strategies using ServiceNow APM.
- Establish and maintain application portfolio governance, standards, and data quality frameworks.
- Analyze application portfolios to identify opportunities for rationalization, modernization, consolidation, and cost optimization.
- Partner with Enterprise Architects and Application Owners to assess application health, technical risk, business value, lifecycle status, and strategic alignment.
- Drive application portfolio data collection, validation, normalization, and governance.
- Develop dashboards, reports, KPIs,



and actionable insights using ServiceNow APM capabilities.
- Support technology modernization and transformation initiatives through portfolio-level analysis and recommendations.
- Identify applications that present operational, technical, security, compliance, or lifecycle risks.
- Collaborate with Security, Infrastructure, Architecture, Finance, and Business teams to establish portfolio governance and decision-making frameworks.
- Lead workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, stakeholder meetings, and APM governance forums.
- Translate business requirements into ServiceNow APM functional and technical solutions.
- Coordinate with ServiceNow technical teams on configurations, integrations, enhancements, and implementation activities.
- Manage project scope, timelines, risks, dependencies, deliverables, and stakeholder communications.
- Provide leadership and guidance to project teams and ensure successful delivery of APM initiatives.
- Prepare executive-level presentations and communicate portfolio insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Ensure APM processes align with enterprise architecture, IT governance, and technology strategy.

Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow APM (Application Portfolio Management).
- Proven experience as a ServiceNow APM SME, APM Lead, or ServiceNow APM Functional/Technical Consultant.




- Strong understanding of ServiceNow APM functionality, configuration, data model, workflows, and integrations.
- Experience with Application Portfolio Management and Application Lifecycle Management processes.
- Strong understanding of application rationalization, technology lifecycle, technical debt, application health, and portfolio optimization.
- Experience developing and implementing APM governance frameworks and standards.
- Strong project management and delivery experience, preferably leading enterprise ServiceNow initiatives.
- Ability to translate business requirements into functional and technical ServiceNow solutions.
- Experience working with Enterprise Architecture, IT leadership, application owners, and business stakeholders.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn portfolio data into actionable recommendations.
- Experience with ServiceNow dashboards, reporting, KPIs, and data quality management.
- Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, risks, dependencies, and project deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications
- ServiceNow certifications related to APM, ITSM, ITOM, or other relevant ServiceNow modules.
- Experience with ServiceNow CMDB, CSDM, SAM, ITOM, or Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM).
- Experience supporting enterprise-wide ServiceNow implementations or transformations.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks and application rationalization methodologies.
- Experience working with large, complex application portfolios.
- Strong understanding of IT governance, technology strategy, and modernization initiatives.
