Weyerhaeuser's Engineered Lumber Products (Parallam®) manufacturing plant, located on Annacis Island (Delta), British Columbia, is currently seeking an experienced Shift Supervisor with a proven track record in safety, quality, reliability, and people development. This position is located in a highly collaborative unionized facility and works closely with union employees and union representatives on a daily basis. The successful candidate will be expected to foster positive labor-management relationships, administer the collective agreement fairly and consistently, and support an engaged, respectful workplace culture.
This is a full-time, exempt role. The city has all the features of a modern city - hospital, airport, libraries, recreational facilities, and numerous bike and walking trails, with a large number of parks, including waterfront parks on the Fraser River, Boundary Bay and Strait of Georgia. The BC lower mainland region is one of the most desired places to live in North America, combining quick access to the cosmopolitan city of Vancouver, surrounding ocean and rivers (for beachcombing, swimming, water sports and boating), nearby mountains (for hiking, biking and rock climbing in the summer, and skiing and snowboarding in the winter months) and a moderate climate that allows year-round enjoyment of most of those activities The Shift Supervisor is the lead member of the shift team and is a key member of the plant wide leadership team.
The responsibilities of the Shift Supervisor include (but are not limited to) the following: Managing daily operations of the shift to ensure that all safety, quality, environmental and production targets are met.
Formal Performance
Management – supporting a culture of goal-achieving through goal setting, managing performance and recognition. ability to analyze, asses and control risk in a reliable and systematic way.
- Proven ability to inspire and motivate team performance and lead diverse group through challenging issues • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize time while handling multiple tasks.
- Excels at managing change – leads and enables others to adapt to and anticipate change.
- Ability to work a rotating 12 hours shifts, day/night and weekend. Flexibility to work non-scheduled hours, across shifts as required • Limited travel may be required. Post-Secondary 4-year university degree or 3-5 years of experience leading teams, shifts, or other functional groups • Experience leading teams in a unionized manufacturing or industrial setting, including working knowledge of collective agreements and labor-management relations, is preferred • Strong prioritization skills - able to manage multiple tasks at once • Strong computer skills • You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay.

Retirement : Nonunion Canadian employees are automatically enrolled in our Defined Contribution Pension Plan, which includes a paid company match up to 6%, in addition to a company contribution equaling up to 7.25% of your base salary.
