Bilingual Disability Case Manager, French and English Required - 12 month contract

Introduction

Are you an experienced disability claims professional ready to bring your expertise to a dynamic insurance environment while continuing to grow your skills?

Our client is seeking a Bilingual Disability Case Manager, French and English Required for a 12-month contract . You will manage a combination of short-term and long-term disability claims, assess medical and non-medical information, make well-supported claim decisions, and develop effective return-to-work strategies.

This hybrid opportunity requires 1 day per week in the North York office , offering flexibility while keeping you connected to your team.

Compensation: $55,000 to $78,000 per year

Contract: 12 months, fixed term with full medical benefits and a DB pension plan!!

Work arrangement: Hybrid, 1 day per week in the North York office

Language requirement: Professional fluency in French and English, spoken and written

What You’ll Do

You will take ownership of a varied disability claims portfolio and guide cases from assessment through resolution. You will work with claimants, healthcare professionals, rehabilitation resources, and other stakeholders to make informed decisions and support appropriate, sustainable return-to-work outcomes.

This role provides an opportunity to deepen your disability management expertise, strengthen your analytical and decision-making skills, and gain valuable experience within a collaborative insurance environment.

Responsibilities

- Manage a caseload of short-term and long-term disability claims.
- Review medical evidence, policy provisions, non-medical factors, applicable programs, legislation, policies, and procedures to determine claim eligibility.
- Make timely, well-supported decisions and communicate claim decisions and action plans clearly to relevant parties.




- Develop and implement strategies that support recovery and appropriate return-to-work outcomes.
- Coordinate with physicians, rehabilitation professionals, medical experts, assessment providers, and other external resources when required.
- Monitor external interventions to support appropriate progress, service standards, and cost management.
- Provide responsive customer service to claimants and other stakeholders involved in each file.
- Maintain accurate claim information within internal systems and process applicable payments in accordance with policy provisions and procedures.
- Participate in claim review meetings when required.
- Identify opportunities to improve service, productivity, and claim management processes.
- Continue developing knowledge of disability management tools, policies, processes, products, and services.
- Support technical, administrative, and project-based activities related to effective case management.

Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in disability claims adjudication and disability case management within the insurance sector. Short term or Long term
- Professional fluency in French and English , both spoken and written, is required.
- College diploma or university degree, preferably in administration, kinesiology, health sciences, or a related discipline, is an asset.
- Strong understanding of insurance contracts and disability claim management principles.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organization, prioritization, and workload management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.

- Adaptable, curious, and able to learn new processes and information quickly.
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative, service-oriented approach.
