About The Role As a Principal Software Engineer at Veeva, you will be a foundational member of a pioneering team building a new AI-driven platform that aims to revolutionize how life sciences companies manage safety, regulatory, and clinical development processes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence and shape a codebase and engineering organization from the ground up.

You will wear multiple hats, collaborating closely with product management and development teams to deliver innovative solutions. The platform will be AI-first,



leveraging artificial intelligence not only to enhance engineering productivity and discipline but also to develop solutions that address complex industry challenges. Within your first year, you will see your work live with customers, contributing to a product that accelerates the delivery of life-saving therapies.

The role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for building scalable, high-quality enterprise SaaS applications and a desire to mentor and develop engineering talent.

Qualifications

- 12+ years of proven software development experience, including production-level Python development
- Extensive experience in developing high-scale enterprise SaaS cloud applications
- Proven expertise in architecting and building scalable, high-volume products
- Hands-on experience with current open-source tools and technologies such as Python, Git, FastAPI, and Pydantic
- Strong ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced, startup-like environments
- Demonstrated success in mentoring and elevating engineering teams
- High work ethic, integrity, and honesty aligned with Veeva’s values
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Responsibilities

- Own all stages of feature development, from design and coding to deployment, support, and maintenance
- Contribute daily code, leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity and code quality
- Collaborate with product management and development teams to design and implement technical solutions
- Analyze complex problems quickly,



identifying knowns and unknowns to develop effective solutions
- Define, promote, and mentor engineering best practices and coding standards, especially in AI-assisted engineering
- Conduct comprehensive code reviews to ensure code quality and consistency across the team
- Mentor engineering team members, fostering skill development and best practices
- Help shape the technical architecture of the platform, ensuring scalability, security, and performance
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate innovative approaches into the development process
