Role Description The Solar Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Halifax, NS. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing solar power systems and related electrical components on residential and commercial properties. Day-to-day tasks include site assessments, mounting panels and racking, wiring and connecting inverters, testing system performance, and troubleshooting issues to ensure safe and efficient operation.

The Solar

Technician will follow all safety standards, interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics, and document work performed. Collaboration with supervisors, electricians,



and other team members is required to complete projects on schedule and meet quality standards.

Qualifications

- Knowledge of solar technologies, including Solar Systems and Solar Power, and familiarity with the Solar Industry.
- Ability to perform Troubleshooting on solar installations and Power Generation equipment to diagnose and resolve performance issues.
- Experience or training in electrical work, including basic wiring, use of electrical test equipment, and understanding of relevant codes and standards.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, with skills in using hand and power tools, working at heights, and performing physically demanding tasks safely.
- Attention to detail and ability to interpret technical documentation, system layouts, and installation manuals.
- Positive communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow instructions and coordinate with project leads and colleagues.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites in and around Halifax, NS.
- Relevant certification or apprenticeship in solar installation or electrical trades is an asset; prior experience in solar or electrical contracting is preferred.
