Solutions Designer – CRM
Responsibilities
- Design hosting technology solutions based on client specifications, standards, policies, best practices, and cost models to meet CRM business requirements.
- Plan, implement, and support large complex CRM systems.
- Configure and integrate Salesforce with other applications using web services or other mechanisms.
- Collaborate with IT professionals throughout the SDLC.
- Conduct knowledge transfer, document processes and technical designs, and update build books.
- Perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot and resolve incidents.
- Manage issues and user stories in JIRA/Azure DevOps.
- Report progress, proactively raise risks/issues, and provide estimates for proposed solutions.
General Skills
- Experience in programming, analysis, and CRM software support.
- Ability to collaborate across SDLC phases.
- Proficiency in structured methodologies for design, implementation, and maintenance.
- Solid coding, debugging, and documentation skills.
- Experience with relational databases, query languages, and communication protocols.
- Ability to elicit and document requirements from diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
CRM Software Development Skills
- Knowledge of CRM enterprise architecture methodologies, design standards, and tools.
- Experience with middleware, gateways, and CRM software development tools.
- Expertise in high-availability solution design and implementation.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Internet-ready applications and RAD methodologies.
- Knowledge of Information Management principles.
- Ability to review, analyze, and modify installation scripts.
- Experience conducting design walkthroughs and providing post-implementation support.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (AODA/ODA).
- Familiarity with networking technologies, enterprise storage, and recovery procedures.
Salesforce-Specific Skills
- Evaluate Salesforce components/products based on cost-benefit and risk analysis.
- Build Salesforce solutions from user stories and designs.
- Adhere to coding standards and deliver maintainable code.
- Deliver products in Agile/Scrum mode.
- Map Salesforce features against business requirements (fit-gap analysis).
- Design, configure, and integrate solutions on Salesforce Lightning Cloud (LWC).
- Hands-on with Apex, Lightning, VisualForce, APIs, SOQL/SOSL, and web services.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce security model.
- Build integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, Auth, and SSO.
- Migrate changes across environments using CI tools (Salesforce DX, Jenkins, ANT).
- Experience with deployment tools (GitLab, Jenkins).
Must Have Certifications
- 5+ years Salesforce development (Public Sector Foundation & Sales Cloud).
- Salesforce Platform Developer I.
- Salesforce OmniStudio Developer.
- Salesforce Experience Cloud Consultant.
- Salesforce Administrator.
Knowledge Transfer
- Ongoing transfer through meetings, touchpoints, and working sessions.
- All design, development, and documentation must be stored in ministry repositories.
Evaluation Criteria
- Salesforce Experience (30 pts):
Hands-on configuration, certifications, 5+ years experience.
- Design/Analysis/Development (35 pts):
Supporting, maintaining, configuring Salesforce; troubleshooting; fit-gap analysis; AODA compliance.
- Communication/Documentation (25 pts):
Strong communication, reporting, documentation, estimates, and collaboration with project teams.
- Agile Experience (5 pts):
Agile/Scrum methodologies, sprint management, bug tracking, SDLC in DevOps.
- Public Sector Experience (5 pts):
Previous government/public sector work.
