Northern Multicultural Association (NMA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting multiculturalism, inclusion, and community engagement in Northern Ontario. We organize cultural celebrations, community events, and activities that bring people together and celebrate diverse cultures.

About the Position

NMA is seeking a confident, energetic, and engaging Stage Host / MC to host our cultural and community events on a casual, event-by-event basis.

The successful candidate will help create an enjoyable atmosphere, keep the event program running smoothly, introduce performers and special guests, and engage with the audience throughout the event.

Responsibilities

- Host and emcee NMA cultural and community events
- Introduce performers, speakers, special guests, and community leaders
- Make announcements and provide event information to attendees
- Engage and interact with the audience
- Keep the program on schedule and coordinate transitions between activities
- Work closely with the event organizing team
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional atmosphere




- Handle unexpected situations confidently and professionally

Requirements
- Strong knowledge or fluency in Punjabi is required
- Excellent communication and public-speaking skills
- Confident and comfortable speaking on stage in front of an audience
- Energetic, friendly, and engaging personality
- Knowledge and understanding of Indian culture, traditions, and celebrations is an asset
- Previous experience as an MC, stage host, presenter, or event host is an asset
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays
- Reliable and professional

Compensation & Employment $35.50 per hour

This is a casual, event-based position, with hours varying depending on NMA events and programs.
