Role Overview

This position is a hybrid role that combines classroom teaching with academic operations. As a Student Success Coordinator, you ensure our students are well-supported by monitoring their academic progress and managing the logistics of their learning experience—such as coordinating tutor schedules and overseeing tracking systems.

As an English Instructor, you will lead courses and tutoring sessions, while also dedicating time to curriculum design to ensure our educational materials remain high-quality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Advanced Subject Instruction

- Deliver high-quality, engaging instruction across a diverse range of grade thresholds, specializing in secondary school levels (Grades 11–12), AP English, and IB English.
- Conduct core weekend and evening literacy blocks, including foundational courses, advanced reading, advanced writing, vocabulary enrichment, and entrance exam preparation.
- Maintain a highly structured, reliable learning setting that supports advanced students through rigorous curriculum milestones and exam preparation timelines.

2. Academic Operations & Tutor Coordination (Ongoing)

- Manage internal student tracking sheets, proactively flag academic drop-offs via "At-Risk Student Notes," and oversee the initial setup of Google Classrooms to ensure seamless workflow ownership.
- Assist with the logistical coordination of the pre-approved tutor catalog, cross-referencing availability blocks, and managing scheduling allocations within Teachworks.
- Facilitate rapid tutor placement by cross-referencing parent availability blocks against the pre-approved tutor catalog to secure and finalize a student-tutor match within a strict 48-hour operational window.

3. Curriculum Development

- Transition toward curriculum design during winter operational lulls.
- Author, refine, and optimize structured lesson plans, student study guides, and instructional resources to foster long-term student retention.

Position Mechanics & Schedule

- Status: Permanent Part-Time Staff
- Weekly Hours:



22.5 hours per week (Instructional delivery + designated administrative buffer; private tutoring allocations may expand these baseline hours).
- Work hours will be evenings and weekends.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Required Credentials

- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a matching humanities subject area.
- Instructional Experience: Proven track record of teaching multiple secondary grade levels, with explicit experience preparing students for AP and IB English examinations.
- Administrative Competency: Demonstrated excellence in workflow ownership and strong organizational skills, with a proven track record of multitasking, meeting administrative deadlines, and managing student files independently. Highly adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, seamlessly pivoting between instructional priorities and administrative duties while independently navigating tracking platforms (e.g., Teachworks, Google Workspace).

Preferred Assets (Bonus Points)

- Mathematical Versatility: Ability and willingness to instruct middle-school-level mathematics (up to Grade 7 Math Concepts) to maximize scheduling versatility.
- Operations Experience: Prior experience coordinating rosters, matching student availability, or managing tutor scheduling structures.
