Project Superintendent
Kitchener, ON
SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director, the Superintendent will be responsible for organizing teams and equipment and assigning tasks to workers based on ongoing projects within the Civil Engineering and Roadwork sector. The Superintendent will also plan labour and equipment requirements and monitor needs according to the project schedule.
PRIMARY SCOPE OF ROLE
Project Management and Control
- Manages projects to ensure they are constructed according to design, budget, and schedule.
- Monitors project performance, schedule, costs, equipment, manpower, materials, equipment maintenance, safety, and quality control
- Interfaces with the project team, subcontractors, and related third parties
- Monitors and inspects project site to maintain a safe work environment and provides leadership to ensure policies, procedures, and standards are followed
- Supervises, provides guidance and assesses the performance of direct reports and other team members
- Oversees project closeout.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- 10+ years of relevant experience on construction sites.
- Experience in all aspects of road construction (Asphalt, Concrete, Sewer/ Watermain, Grading, etc)
- Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
- Familiarity with MTO, OPSS and Municipal Specifications.
- Skilled attitude and the ability to adapt quickly to job site realities.
- Proactive and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills with various stakeholders.
- Commitment to a high level of quality, safety and environmental standards.
- Ability to plan and organize work on a day-to-day basis.
- Respect for rules, procedures, and work methods.
- Ability to handle pressure, unexpected situations, and deadlines.
- Valid Class G driver's license.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Expected Base Salary: $95,000 – 125,000 per year. The actual base salary will depend on several factors including experience, qualifications, internal equity, work location and market expectations.
