Duties
- Assist residents or clients with daily activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to ensure comfort and dignity.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary, promoting healthy eating habits.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning living spaces, laundry, and maintaining a hygienic setting.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of isolation and foster a positive atmosphere.
- Help with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting when required, ensuring safety for both the caregiver and the individual.
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with organizational policies and report any changes in health or behavior promptly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in assisted living, home care, or nursing home environments is highly desirable.
- Strong background in patient care, senior care, dementia care, or hospice care enhances your ability to provide specialized support.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or those requiring intensive caregiving is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety standards is essential.
- Excellent communication skills combined with patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Basic housekeeping skills including cleaning and meal preparation to support overall well-being.
