Position Title: Technical Lead

Department: Application Portfolio Delivery

Work Arrangement : On-site

Potential Total Compensation: $130,000-$170,000

Position Summary: 407 ETR is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Sr. Developer to design and develop for the Strata platform, a mission-critical revenue-generation system supporting tolling operations and customer transactions.

The role is responsible for doing development for technical modernization initiatives across C++, Java/Spring Boot services, API development, Oracle database integration, DevOps enablement, and platform engineering. This individual will serve as the senior technical Developer for application design, development, standards, technical reviews, and production support while remaining actively engaged in software development activities.

Solution Design & Development: C++ Platform Development

- Contribute to the design, development, and modernization of legacy and modern C++ applications.
- Refactor and modernize existing codebases to improve maintainability, performance, and reliability.
- Establish coding standards, design patterns, and development best practices.

Java & API Development

- Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
- Lead service-oriented architecture modernization initiatives.
- Ensure integration services meet performance, scalability, security, and reliability requirements.

Database Development

- Design and optimize Oracle database interactions.
- Support SQL tuning, data access frameworks, stored procedures, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with DBA teams on database modernization and Oracle transformation initiatives.





Technical Delivery

- Participate in estimation, planning, design reviews, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Perform complex troubleshooting and root cause analysis for critical application issues.
- Contribute hands-on code to modernization, enhancement, and remediation initiatives.

DevOps Enablement

- Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve deployment automation and release management.
- Support CI/CD pipeline implementation and modernization.
- Promote Infrastructure-as-Code and automation best practices where applicable.

Production Support

- Serve as senior escalation point for complex production issues.
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective action planning.

Technical Skills Required Development Technologies

- Expert-level C++ development experience.
- Strong Java development experience.
- Spring Boot and REST API development.
- Object-oriented design and design patterns.
- Multi-threaded and high-performance application development.

Database Technologies

- Oracle Database.
- SQL performance tuning and optimization.

DevOps & Engineering Practices

- Source control systems (Git preferred).
- CI/CD tools and deployment automation.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline.




- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- 10+ years of software development experience.
- 5+ years leading technical development and design for complex software initiatives.
- Experience working on large-scale, mission-critical enterprise platforms.
