Job Summary:

H.W. Protection Inc. is a highly specialized organization dedicated to providing global support and protection to the company's people, products, and premises.

Reporting to the Director, Remote Operations Center, the Sr. Manager, Risk & Technologies manages and supports the technical team with electronic security systems tasks such as installing and configuring both electronic security hardware and software, troubleshooting, and testing the functionality of installed systems to improve efficiency, reliability and performance.

The Sr. Manager, Risk & Technologies is also responsible for designing and managing all aspects of electronic security systems, including intrusion detection, electronic access control and digital video, to minimize risks in accordance with security and cyber security industry's best practice and insurance requirements.

The Sr. Manager, Risk & Technologies assists the Sr. Manager, Remote Operations Center in office management tasks and HR matters as and when required.

Key Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

- Design, implement and maintain cost effective custom security solutions using MS Visio, identifying locations for intrusion detection devices, video and access control systems based on the site location and risk level that follow industry best practices as documented in the ASIS Certified Protection Professional and Physical Security Professional body of knowledge.
- Select safes, vaults, glazing, high security locksets/locks/keys and determine specifications for wall/floor/ceiling construction for high-risk facilities.
- Provide current electronic security equipment costs and generate parts list for projects.
- Evaluate electronic security systems bid proposals.
- Develop and implement maintenance and backup strategies for all electronic security systems including vulnerability testing and patch management.
- Require direct experience integrating electronic security system software and hardware technologies into IT and cyber security processes and network architecture.
- Configure the intrusion detection system,



access control system and video management software to remotely support the local security vendor and in person direct onsite commissioning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with electronic access control, intrusion detection and digital video devices and computing systems.
- Keep current with the latest technologies and determine what new technology solutions will meet business requirements and enhance the security program.
- Install, dismantle or reconstruct required equipment (intrusion, access control and video management systems) to locate and resolve issues with damaged equipment or wiring.
- Read blueprints, building and electrical plans to complete equipment repairs effectively where applicable.
- Test operation of systems to the signal-receiving center to properly confirm equipment connectivity.
- Resolve technical issues related to electronic security system applications and software within servers, clients, databases, and other mission critical systems.
- Office Management and handling HR matters while Director, Remote Operations Center and/or Sr. Manager, Remote Operations Center are absent.

Key Job Relationships:

- Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, and end users.
- Daily interaction with Director, Remote Operations Center for guidance with respect to security operations and to apprise technical matters which could affect the global operation.
- Daily interaction with Technical Team, Sr. Manager, Remote Operations Center, ROC staff to troubleshoot issues they have identified as well as assist in their learning of the systems as it relates to their duties.




- Frequent interaction with IT personnel to update and convey technical network concerns thus minimizing system risk.
- Frequent interaction with external service providers for the purpose of ensuring system functionality and integrity.
- Liaise with Senior Management regarding operational related issues.

Job Qualifications:

- Completed the ASIS Certified Protection Professional certification or registered to take the certification test.
- Completed the ASIS Physical Security Professional certification or registered to take the certification test.
- Experience installing and configuring Microsoft Windows Desktop operating systems.
- Experience installing, configuring and patching Microsoft Windows Server operating systems.
- Experience installing, configuring and patching Microsoft SQL Express and SQL Server.
- Proficient using Microsoft Visio to create and edit electronic security device plans, wire diagrams and conduit layout.
- Excellent understanding of computer networking equipment such as managed switches, firewalls and routers.
- Excellent understanding of cyber security best practices related to OS and application patch management, passwords and VLAN segmentation.
- Ability to install and configure IP and analog cameras, access control and intrusion detection systems.
- Undergraduate studies in Computer Sciences or equivalent professional experience in relevant field/industry.
- Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in the security and risk management industry.
- Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Able to work well in a multicultural/multilingual workplace.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Conditions:

- The department operates 24/7/365 so this role will require shift work and on-call availability.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and other computer components.
- Lifting and transporting moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
- A valid passport is required as there may be some international travel for the purpose of on-site systems testing, troubleshooting and repair.
