Duties
- Safely operate heavy-duty trucks to transport goods over designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load security
- Load and unload cargo with proper lifting techniques, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs, manifests, and delivery receipts
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse teams to coordinate pickups and deliveries
- Ensure cargo is secured properly to prevent damage during transit
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures to promote a safe working environment
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for heavy trucks
- Proven experience driving large trucks or similar vehicles in various weather conditions
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently as part of loading or unloading cargo
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and route planning
- Excellent communication skills for clear interaction with team members and clients
- Physical stamina to handle long hours on the road and perform manual tasks as needed
