Turbomachinery Designer – CAD / Fluidic Design
We are supporting a quick-growing aerospace company developing advanced propulsion hardware and looking for experienced Turbomachinery Designers/Engineers across both mechanical design and fluidic design.
The Role
Depending on your background, you will support the design and development of pumps, turbines and other high-performance rotating equipment, taking designs from concept through detailed definition and ultimately into hardware.
Responsibilities may include:
- 3D CAD design and detailed manufacturing drawings.
- Design of turbomachinery components and rotating assemblies.
- GD&T; and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Fluidic/aerodynamic design of pumps and turbines.
- Design of impellers, inducers, diffusers, volutes, turbine nozzles and rotors.
- CFD analysis and turbomachinery performance optimisation.
- Design for manufacture and close collaboration with manufacturing and test teams.
- Supporting hardware through build and testing.
What We're Looking For We're interested in candidates with experience across either detailed CAD/drafting or fluidic/aerodynamic turbomachinery design .
Relevant experience could include:
- Turbopumps and rocket propulsion
- Aircraft or helicopter engines
- Gas turbines
- Pumps and compressors
- Aerospace gearboxes
- Other complex rotating equipment
Experience with Siemens NX, CATIA, GD&T;, tolerance analysis or turbomachinery CFD would be particularly relevant. Direct rocket experience is desirable but not essential. Strong candidates from aerospace and industrial turbomachinery backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
The position will ultimately be based in Canada , with flexibility around the initial transition for the right candidate.
