Join our team of dedicated tutors who are passionate about making literacy and math accessible to all children! We are looking for tutors who are eager to make a difference in the lives of students with learning disabilities and differences.

Individualized Tutoring:

Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions for children with diverse learning needs, tailoring lessons to each student’s level and abilities. Use structured, multi-sensory literacy approaches—full training in our methods will be provided.

Assessment:

Conduct regular assessments to determine student’s level, strengths, and weaknesses. Monitor progress regularly and adjust lessons as needed.

Lesson Planning:

Create and deliver personalized lesson plans using our structured literacy framework. Incorporate multi-sensory and adaptive teaching strategies to support learning outcomes.

Progress Tracking:

Maintain transparent records of student progress, noting improvements and areas for continued focus. Share updates with parents and managers regularly.

Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with parents and other educators to support each student’s development.

Adaptability:

Stay current with effective teaching practices for literacy and learning differences, and adjust instructional methods as needed.

Motivation & Support:

Create a positive and encouraging learning environment. Support students through challenges while building confidence and celebrating progress.

Feedback:

Provide constructive feedback to students and their families,



along with suggestions for reinforcing learning outside of sessions.

We are looking for Tutors with:

- Experience working with kids. Educational or similar settings are preferred but not required.
- Strong spoken and written English skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly share student progress and strategies with families.
- Empathy, patience, and good emotional regulation skills. The ability to connect with students who may face learning challenges is important for this role.
- Adaptability and an ability to tailor instruction to individual learners and apply a variety of teaching strategies.
- Strong organizational skills to manage lesson planning and track student progress

Additional Assets (Not Required):

- Experience supporting students with learning differences or familiarity with structured literacy approaches. Training will be provided regardless of this background.
- Backgrounds in education, psychology, or related fields.
- Experience working with children in the foster care system or a knowledge of trauma-informed practice.
- Behaviour intervention experience or a background working with students with ASD.
- Comfortable / willing to tutor math students as well as literacy students

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour Expected hours: 8.0 – 24.0 per week
