Are you a customer service star who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment? We are looking for professional, reliable, and customer-focused Security Guards to join our team at Victoria International Airport (YYJ). As an Airport Security Officer, you will play an important role in maintaining a safe and secure setting while providing exceptional service to airport contractors, employees, passengers, and the public.

Current Opportunities

We are looking for candidates to support:

- AVOP Drivers – Airport Escorts
- PESO Officers $24.46/hour
- Patrol Officers $23.16/hour
- SOC Operator $25.10/hour

Your Main Duties

- Provide professional and specialized security services based on client and airport requirements.
- Patrol airport properties and designated areas to ensure the safety of people and property.
- Escort and monitor YYJ contractors and trades in secure and sensitive areas of the airport and airfield.
- Ensure contractors have valid temporary passes and are authorized to access assigned areas.
- Operate a marked company vehicle when required.
- Follow and enforce airport, client, and company rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Identify and report security breaches, safety hazards, suspicious activity, and other irregularities.




- Respond to emergencies and contact appropriate personnel and emergency responders when required.
- Provide first aid and medical assistance when required.
- Provide exceptional customer service and respond professionally to questions and inquiries from passengers, contractors, employees, and the public.
- Complete accurate reports and maintain clear communication with supervisors and airport personnel.

Requirements

- Valid BC Security Worker Licence (Security Guard designation) – required.
- Eligible to work in Canada.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the required Transport Security Clearance.
- Valid Class 5 required for applicable positions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service skills and a professional, approachable attitude.
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working in a fast-paced airport environment.
- Airside Vehicle Operator Permit (AVOP) – an asset.
- RAIC – an asset.
- OFA Level 1 – an asset.
