Flyby Aerials is seeking an organized and personable Volunteer Talent Acquisition Coordinator to help find, screen, and coordinate volunteer talent as our aerial-media brand grows.
This is a remote, adaptable, on-call volunteer role open to candidates located in Alberta, with Calgary-area candidates welcome. It is neither a full-time nor a part-time position; there are no fixed weekly hours.
Projects and tasks will be assigned based on upcoming hiring needs and your availability.
This opportunity is a strong fit for a student, emerging HR or recruitment professional, or organized communicator looking to gain real-world experience in talent acquisition, candidate screening, and coordination. As Flyby Aerials grows, there may be opportunities for increased responsibility and potential paid work in the future; however, this position is currently unpaid and volunteer-based.
What You'll Do
- Help post, update, and manage volunteer and project-based role listings on LinkedIn and other platforms
- Screen incoming applications and shortlist candidates based on role requirements
- Schedule and coordinate interviews (including one-way video interviews) with hiring decision-makers
- Communicate with candidates via email, messaging platforms, or video calls with clear, professional updates
- Provide candidates with information about roles, expectations, and next steps in a timely manner
- Maintain organized candidate records and track applicants through the hiring pipeline
- Assist with onboarding documentation for successful candidates
- Collaborate with the team to improve recruitment processes and overall candidate experience
- Help draft or refine job postings, screening questions, and candidate email templates
- Remain flexible to assist with other HR, administrative, or coordination projects as they come up
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive, professional relationships with candidates and team members
- Experience or interest in hiring activities such as reviewing applications, coordinating interviews, and supporting selection decisions
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide timely, respectful updates to candidates and stakeholders
- Customer-service mindset, including responsiveness, empathy, and a focus on creating a positive candidate experience
- Organized and dependable, with the ability to manage schedules, records, and digital tools or spreadsheets
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment with reliable internet access
- Familiarity with basic office software and communication platforms (email, calendars, video conferencing); applicant tracking system experience is a plus
- English-speaking, French-speaking, or bilingual candidates are welcome
- Prior coursework or experience in HR, recruitment, or related fields is an asset, but formal experience is not required
