The opportunity

ENVGO is building Canada’s Sovereign Maritime Shield: a distributed maritime capability designed to strengthen awareness, responsiveness, and security across Canada’s vast coastal and maritime domain. Our flagship defence vessel is the XV2, a compact hydrofoiling uncrewed surface vessel designed for demanding maritime security and defence operations. The XV2 combines aerospace-derived hydrofoiling, AI-enabled autonomy, electric propulsion, and advanced payload integration to deliver fast, low-signature maritime sensing and response capability with a lower deployment burden than conventional crewed platforms.

The VP, Commercial Development will turn this technology into national and international market impact. Working alongside seasoned entrepreneurs, engineering leaders, and maritime-autonomy experts, they will build ENVGO’s go-to-market organization from the ground up. They will own the company’s revenue-generation mandate, translate customer missions and requirements into actionable priorities for engineering, and establish the international partnerships and market channels needed to scale ENVGO across Canada and allied markets.

This is a hands-on leadership role in an early-stage deep-technology company. You will personally lead priority pursuits and strategic relationships while building and managing the go-to-market team.

Location: Canada — Ontario or Halifax; hybrid

Travel: Approximately 30–40%

Employment: Full-time

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

What you will own1. Go To Market Strategy & Execution

Working closely with the executive team, you will be fully accountable for every aspect of ENVGO’s go-to-market strategy, organization, and execution.

- Develop and execute ENVGO’s commercial strategy, defining the highest-value customer missions, market segments, geographic priorities, and routes to market across Canada and internationally.
- Build senior relationships with defence and security customers, government organizations, NATO programs, primes, integrators, shipyards, and strategic partners.
- Establish and manage a selective international network of resellers, integrators, representatives, and strategic partners, with clear expectations for market access, capability, accountability, and economics.
- Build and lead the commercial organization spanning sales, marketing, customer programs, and international partnerships.
- Lead ENVGO’s participation in priority tradeshows and customer demonstrations, setting objectives, messaging, target engagement plans, and disciplined follow-up activities.

- Revenue Generation

As part of the executive team, you will hold full responsibility for ENVGO’s revenue strategy, commercial execution, account performance, and financial outcomes.

- Own ENVGO’s company-wide revenue-generation mandate, including pipeline, forecasts, capture plans, pricing strategy, partner economics, and executive reporting.
- Own and manage ENVGO’s most critical customer accounts, coordinating executive engagement, strengthening customer relationships, expanding account value, and creating paths to follow-on revenue.
- Evaluate and manage commercial consultants, regional representatives, distributors,

and other external commercial resources.
- Work closely with, and as part of, the executive team on contracts, budgets, government programs, export readiness, Board reporting, strategic accounts, and senior government and industry relationships.

- Customer Programs and Solutions

Working closely with the executive team, you will fully own customer-program strategy and execution, from mission discovery through requirements, delivery, and acceptance.

- Lead the translation of customer missions and operator needs into mission concepts, requirements, trials, proposals, and successfully delivered customer programs.
- Manage customer defence programs from contract award through delivery and acceptance, coordinating engineering, operations, suppliers, and customers while controlling scope, requirements, schedule, budget, risks, compliance, and performance reporting.
- Serve as the commercial bridge between customers and engineering, translating market evidence into commercially viable product priorities while protecting the XV2 from unfocused or uneconomic customization.
- Build a reliable feedback loop from customer engagements, demonstrations, trials, and deployments into product strategy, engineering priorities, and corporate planning.

What success looks like

- Revenue targets: Achieve ENVGO’s agreed revenue targets by converting qualified opportunities into funded programs, product sales, and follow-on revenue through disciplined commercial execution.
- Customer mission use cases: Define and prove customer mission use cases that create an operational advantage through direct customer engagement, ensuring engineering is building toward those use cases.
- GTM and international markets: Deliver and execute an executive-approved go-to-market plan and activate priority international markets through selective channel partners that generate qualified opportunities.
- XV2 ecosystem partnerships: Develop strategic partnerships with defence primes, integrators, shipyards, payload providers, and technology companies that leverage and expand the XV2 platform.
- Commercial operating system: Establish a disciplined CRM, qualification process, weekly forecast, and commercial dashboard that provide reliable information for executive and Board decision-making.
- Customer accounts and program delivery: Manage ENVGO’s critical customer accounts and deliver contracted defence programs against agreed scope, schedule, budget, technical performance, reporting, and customer-acceptance requirements.
- Commercial team: Build and lead ENVGO’s marketing and business-development organization using an effective combination of full-time employees, contractors, advisors, and specialized commercial partners.

What you bring

or sales within defence, maritime systems, autonomy, aerospace, robotics, mission systems, or another complex technology market.
- At least five years of experience building or leading multidisciplinary commercial teams.

- Working knowledge of Canadian federal procurement and at least one allied or NATO defence market.
- Experience selling to government, defence, or security customers through long, technically complex procurement cycles.
- Experience developing and managing international distributors, resellers, integrators, or strategic channel partners.
- Solid commercial judgment around market selection, qualification, pricing, partner economics, contract quality, and gross margin.
- The ability to translate between operators, engineers, procurement teams, executives, and partners without losing credibility with any audience.
- Robust written and operating discipline, including capture plans, proposals, forecasts, pricing, executive updates, and team scorecards.
- A hands-on, low-ego leadership style suited to an entrepreneurial company.
- Authorization to work in Canada and the ability to travel regularly.
- Eligibility to satisfy applicable security-clearance, customer-site, and Controlled Goods requirements.

Direct maritime, naval, Coast Guard, small-craft, uncrewed-systems, or operational-trials experience is strongly preferred.
