Position Summary
Colonial Countertops is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse & Inventory Material Handler to join our Victoria team.
This is a hands-on position combining warehouse operations, inventory control, material handling, and production support. You will help receive, organize, track, inspect, and move stone slabs while ensuring our fabrication and installation teams have the materials they need.
Previous stone-industry experience is not required. We are looking for someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, comfortable using computers, and willing to learn. Training will be provided.
What You Will Do
- Read and follow work orders, inventory documents, labels, and other job-related paperwork accurately.
- Receive, inspect, photograph, label, and organize stone slabs and other materials.
- Enter, update, track, and issue materials using the company’s inventory system.
- Confirm that inventory records and material labels are complete and accurate.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report concerns promptly.
- Prepare stone materials and products for fabrication, delivery, shipping, and receiving.
- Safely load and unload supplier, delivery, and installation trucks.
- Operate overhead cranes, forklifts,
and other material-handling equipment in accordance with training and safety procedures.
- Coordinate with production employees to ensure CNC machines and other work areas are supplied with the correct materials.
- Communicate proactively with production, installation, and inventory team members about missing, damaged, incorrectly labelled, or otherwise unsuitable materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient inventory, warehouse, and production area.
- Follow all company health and safety policies, safe-work procedures, and equipment requirements.
- Participate in cross-training and assist in other departments when required.
- Contribute to the team effort and complete other duties as required or assigned.

- Commitment to working safely and following established procedures.
The Following Would Be an Asset
- Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, construction-supply, shipping and receiving,
or material-handling environment.
- Forklift or overhead-crane experience.
- Experience using Slabsmith or another inventory-management system.
- Experience handling stone, glass, building materials, or other large and fragile products.
Physical and Work Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical work throughout the shift.
- Ability to regularly handle and move materials in a warehouse and production environment.
- Ability to safely lift and carry materials within established safe-work procedures.
- Some materials may weigh up to 100 lbs. Heavy or awkward materials must be handled using appropriate mechanical equipment or team-lifting procedures.
- Comfort working around production machinery, forklifts, overhead cranes, and stone-fabrication operations.
- Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment.

Experience:
- Operating Forklift: 1 year (preferred)
- Material Handling: 1 year (preferred)
