About the Role

We are seeking an organized, dependable, and experienced Auction Warehouse & Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our auction warehouse and facility.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing warehouse operations, supervising employees, coordinating the receiving, storage and release of auction merchandise, maintaining an organized and safe facility, and ensuring that operational activities are completed efficiently and on schedule.

This is a hands-on management position requiring strong leadership, organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced auction environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, organize, direct and oversee daily warehouse and facility operations.
- Supervise, schedule and coordinate warehouse employees and support staff.
- Recruit, train and provide direction to warehouse personnel as required.
- Establish work priorities and ensure operational deadlines are met.
- Oversee the receiving, handling, organization, storage and release of auction merchandise.
- Coordinate the movement of inventory throughout the warehouse and designated auction areas.
- Ensure auction items are properly identified, organized and stored in appropriate locations.
- Coordinate customer pickups, merchandise releases and loading activities.




- Work with auction and administrative staff to ensure inventory is prepared and available according to auction schedules.
- Oversee warehouse equipment, facility maintenance and general operational requirements.
- Develop and implement procedures for efficient warehouse and facility operations.
- Maintain workplace health and safety standards and ensure employees follow established safety procedures.
- Monitor facility security and appropriate handling of valuable merchandise.
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs of warehouse equipment and facility systems as required.
- Monitor operational expenses and assist with warehouse/facility budgeting and cost control.
- Maintain operational records and prepare reports for management.
- Identify operational issues and implement practical solutions to improve productivity and workflow.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, transportation providers and other service providers when required.
- Ensure the warehouse and operational areas remain clean, organized, professional and safe.
- Perform other management and operational duties related to the efficient operation of the auction facility.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in warehouse, facility, logistics, operations or inventory management.




- Previous supervisory or management experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership and staff-management abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working with inventory management and general computer systems.
- Ability to problem-solve and make operational decisions independently.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.
- Experience in an auction house, warehouse, logistics, retail, liquidation or similar environment is an asset.
- Valid driver’s licence is an asset.
- Forklift experience/certification is an asset.

Physical Requirements The position involves working in an active warehouse environment and may require standing or walking for extended periods, moving merchandise and assisting with warehouse activities when necessary.
