My family is seeking a part time nanny/support worker to help out with our two kiddos, both autistic (9 and 12). We are looking for a neurodivergence-affirming person - not an ABA-oriented BI.

I’ll start by describing our perfect scenario - but we have reasonably versatile (though full time) jobs, and two sets of local grandparents, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if our family feels like it would be a good fit and you could potentially meet some of these needs.

We’d love to hire someone who could look after our kids at home on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays from 3-6 until we’re home from work/finished working (on days where one of us is working from home).

Our kids do best with adults who want them to feel seen and safe, and who are committed to connecting and building a relationship with them. They are funny and weird and warm and delightful, and they do best with someone who is collaborative and warm in approach.

Our older kiddo is chatty, likes video games, Scrabble, chess and basketball (he has a small hoop in his room and then a bigger one outside). Someone who is keen to engage in these with him would be great.

has a PDA profile and has 1:1 support at school. He does best when the adults follow his lead. He likes to build forts with blankets and furniture, move around/jump on the trampoline, play with stomp rockets and dance.

He also loves playing video games and watching shows/movies. He sometimes likes to draw/colour, water the garden or act out battles or imaginary scenarios.

They sometimes need support for regulation/navigating conflict from a steady, safe adult after school. Some assembly of kid snacks likely required!

It would be amazing if this person was interested in some partial or full day work on Pro-D days, spring break, or during the summer. We register them in camp during the summer, but our youngest has typically only been going two days a week.

Wage: Likely starting between $25-33 depending on experience
