We are always seeking skilled and adaptive people to become a part of KOA as we continue to grow and expand.About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer based in Vancouver to support KOA's multidisciplinary engineering projects across Canada and the United States. The successful candidate will have an active Professional Engineering registration (P.Eng.) in Québec (OIQ), or the ability to obtain OIQ licensure within one year. The candidate will utilize their experience and expertise in mechanical engineering to provide engineering solutions to a diverse clientele, including multinational industry leaders. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:Overseeing and executing office and field engineering projects which can include major design and construction projects from clients based in Canada, the US, and the globePreparing detailed plans, calculations, and specifications related to a wide variety of engineering projectsPreparing proposals, specifications, cost estimates,
and contract documents for mechanical and multidiscipline engineering projectsPerforming or overseeing engineering construction inspections for assigned projectsPerforming or overseeing testing and inspections of mechanical components and materialsPreparing detailed engineering reports regarding the progress and completion of engineering projectsPerforming or overseeing field surveys as required throughout the project life cycleAnalyzing data, preparing reports, and delivering presentations regarding proposed and ongoing projects to KOA staff and clientsAbout YouBS in Mechanical Engineering with an active Professional Engineering Registration (P.Eng) in Québec (OIQ) or the ability to obtain OIQ licensure within 1 year.10+ years of progressive experience in Mechanical and/or Industrial engineering design, with demonstrated leadership in executing complex projects.Knowledge and application of the principles and practices of CAD development and creation of drawing packages at various stages of design developmentFamiliarity with Project Management MethodologiesEffective communicator, including presentation, facilitation and listening skillsAbility to collaborate with team members and clients in a multi-disciplined environmentExcellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detailKnowledge and ability to implement complex mechanical engineering principles and practices applied to project design and constructionAdditional Skills & CapabilitiesExperience with site visits, taking exact field measurements, making and interpreting the resulting calculations/li> Experience withvaried types of mechanical systems commonly found in the Heavy Industry (Mining, Pulp/Paper, Bulk Material Facilities or similar facilities)Experience with Revit, Belt Analyst and Dust Collection Modelling SoftwareWhat We OfferAnnual base salary in the range of $115,000 – $145,000 CAD per year depending on experience and qualificationsFlexible working schedule to allow for a better work life balanceComprehensive benefits package including health and dental and RRSP matchProfessional Development and Growth OpportunitiesTeam Events
