Rooted in social justice values, we believe that everyone deserves quality care, support and respect.POSITION SUMMARY:Physicians providing services in the Trans Health program provide client-centred care to Klinic clients. Physicians uphold Klinic's vision, mission and values and collaborate with inter-professional teams to provide non- judgemental, excellent client care. Physicians will bring with them a deep commitment to an anti-oppressive approach to care and be open to learn from their clients on the clients' journey. Physicians will practice with humility and understand their own social position in comparison to their clients.QUALIFICATIONS:Graduate of a recognized school of medicineCurrently registered or eligible to be registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba (CPSM) for practice in ManitobaCurrent membership in the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)Current certification of the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP)
or comparable professional medical certification appropriate for practice in Transgender HealthInterest and/or experience in community-based medicine and the Social Determinants of HealthDemonstrated ability to work as a member of a teamExcellent oral and written communication skills in English (additional language skills would be an asset)Pro-choiceWillingness and ability to work with individuals of diverse gender identities/ expressions and sexuality preferencesAble to communicate appropriately cross-culturallyRESPONSIBILITIES:CareProvides Gender Affining health care in a community setting, in accordance with Klinic's Transhealth guidelines (based on WPATH 8th edition).Collaborates with Primary Health Care Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Medical Assistants and other Klinic staffParticipates in case conferencesParticipates in the development and or facilitating in-service educationDocuments accurate and pertinent client information in a timely manner, including maintenance of medical bandsCharts appropriately,
legibly and according to Klinic policiesKnowledge of emergency proceduresCommunicates effectively with all health team members to ensure client health needs are metParticipates in after-hours and weekend on call service as part of Klinic's Physician Call ScheduleProgram/AgencyParticipates in the supervision and evaluation of students in the Health ServicesEstablish, review and update clinical protocolsAssists in the development of health information resources; Assists in program development; Records daily statistics as required; Assists with orientation, training and supervision of recent staff and students; Participates intraining courses and in services offered elsewhere and by Klinic in order to maintain and improve quality of service; May be requiredto perform other duties and functions related to this job description but not exceeding above stated skills and capabilitiesPhysical Demands/Working ConditionsWork environment consisting of an office buildingMay be required to move items weighing up to 12 kgMay encounter aggressive and/or agitated clients and visitorsMay be required to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekendsSALARY RANGE $149.78 per hourKlinic is committed to working towards having a more equitable and diverse work force at all levels of our organization.
