Our client, a respected and growing construction company, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex mid-rise and multi-family residential construction projects in the Calgary market.
This role is ideal for an experienced construction professional with strong wood-frame and low- to mid-rise experience who thrives in a cooperative, entrepreneurial environment. The organization values leadership, accountability, and strong team culture, and is looking for someone who can independently lead projects while contributing to the continued growth and operational success of the business.
Compensation: $140,000 – $180,000+ depending on experience
Role Summary The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of multi-family and mid-rise construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This individual will manage schedules, budgets, consultants, subtrades, client relationships, and internal project teams while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and on budget.
The successful candidate will operate with a high degree of autonomy and provide leadership across all phases of construction.
Core Responsibilities Project Leadership & Execution Lead full-cycle construction management of mid-rise and multi-family residential projects
Oversee all project phases including:
Pre-construction planning
Budgeting and cost control
Scheduling and procurement
Construction execution
Project closeout and turnover
Manage project financial performance including forecasting, change orders, cost tracking, and reporting
Ensure adherence to schedules, contract requirements, and quality standards
Identify and proactively mitigate project risks, delays, and cost impacts
Coordinate closely with site superintendents, consultants, ownership groups, and subcontractors
Construction & Operational Oversight Provide leadership to project teams and support field operations
Drive accountability across trades, consultants, and project stakeholders
Review and manage construction schedules and sequencing
Support procurement and subcontractor management processes
Maintain strong project documentation and reporting through Procore or similar systems
Client & Consultant Management Act as primary point of contact for clients, consultants, municipalities, and project stakeholders
Maintain strong professional relationships throughout the project lifecycle
Lead project meetings and provide clear communication regarding project status, risks, schedules, and budgets
Manage challenging conversations professionally and proactively
Leadership & Culture Contribute to a collaborative and solutions-focused team culture
Mentor project coordinators and junior project management staff where applicable
Support continuous improvement of project management systems and operational processes
Key Competencies Technical
Strong experience in wood-frame low-rise and mid-rise residential construction
Deep understanding of construction sequencing and scheduling
Experience managing projects in the $10M–$60M+ range
Strong knowledge of CCDC contracts and construction documentation
Proficiency with Procore and construction financial reporting
Operational
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments

Experience Requirements
8–15+ years of construction project management experience
Strong background in low-rise and mid-rise multi-family residential projects
Experience managing wood-frame construction projects
Proven success delivering projects on time and on budget
Experience leading project teams and coordinating multiple stakeholders
