The Asset Protection Associate plays a key role in creating and maintaining a safe, secure, and professional store environment for customers, associates, visitors, and vendors. By following Asset Protection standards and demonstrating positive, professional behaviour, this role helps prevent financial and physical loss, reduce shrink, and support store profitability.

Responsibilities

- Conduct daily store patrols to ensure a safe and secure environment; verify the operation of doors, display cases, and security devices
- Investigate incidents involving financial and physical loss and communicate findings to store management
- Support internal investigations by escalating information to the Market Loss Prevention Manager per company guidelines
- Lead or assist investigations related to internal and external theft, organized retail crime, and cases assigned by Walmart Canada's Global Ethics team
- Support store emergency procedures including evacuations and incident response
- Conduct external apprehensions when required, in accordance with company directives and legal standards




- Gather and communicate information from multiple sources clearly to store leadership and stakeholders
- Assist with general store operations as needed
- Work flexible shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays

Physical Requirements

- Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, and lift merchandise up to 9 kg (20 lb) regularly, and up to 23 kg (50 lb) on occasion
- Perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail and consistency

Minimum Qualifications

- Valid Security Guard Licence (required)
