We are growing and looking for a BAS Technician who wants to expand their controls expertise and work on complex, meaningful systems.
Role Overview
As a Building Automation Systems (BAS) Technician, you will support start‑up, troubleshooting, commissioning, and integration of HVAC controls and automation systems. You’ll work with Niagara‑based platforms, BACnet/Modbus networks, and critical‑air systems — with full training provided.
This role is ideal for technicians with BAS experience who want to advance into higher‑complexity controls work.
What You’ll Do
BAS & Controls Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, start up, and commission BAS/HVAC control systems
- Diagnose issues with sensors, controllers, VAVs, airflow devices, and networked equipment
- Integrate and commission Niagara 4 platforms (training provided)
- Support sequence verification, functional testing, and system optimization
- Perform basic HVAC mechanical checks related to controls operation
Field & Project Execution
- Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings
- Coordinate with contractors, electricians, and other trades
- Maintain accurate job documentation and service records
- Work safely in mechanical rooms, construction sites, and critical‑environment facilities
Customer Support
- Provide on‑site troubleshooting and training
- Communicate clearly with facility teams and contractors
- Stay current on BAS best practices and product updates
Technology Workplace
You will work with:
- Tridium Niagara 4
- BACnet, Modbus, and third‑party integrations
- HVAC controls for commercial and institutional facilities
- Phoenix Controls lab ventilation systems (training provided)
- Critical‑air systems in healthcare, pharma, and research labs
What We’re Looking For
Required
- Technical diploma or equivalent field experience
- Practical knowledge of HVAC fundamentals or building automation systems
- Experience with BAS troubleshooting, controller networks, or integration
- Familiarity with BACnet/Modbus devices
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience with Niagara 4 or other BAS platforms
- Exposure to lab ventilation or critical‑air systems
- Understanding of airflow controls, VAVs, or room pressure control
Additional Requirements
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word)
- Comfortable working at heights and using ladders
- Willing to travel within Ontario
- Valid driver’s license with clean record
- Ability to obtain UHN and Infrastructure Ontario security clearance
- Ability to lift 40+ lbs
