Heritage Park is seeking a Seasonal Black Cultural Demonstrator to engage and educate visitors on Black history. This role combines performance with education through storytelling and interactive programs.
Take part in Heritage Park's mission by serving as a Black Cultural Demonstrator, interpreting the immigration and lived experiences of the Black community from the late 1800s onwards. This position requires energetic public speaking skills and the ability to work in various outdoor settings. Experience and passion for historical interpretation are key.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach visitors about Black community history
• Lead engaging hands-on activities and demonstrations
• Prepare exhibits while caring for historical artifacts




• Offer exceptional customer service to park guests
• Work alongside a team of history interpreters
Requirements:
• Completion of some high school; related post-secondary education preferred
• Skill in public speaking and audience engagement
• Flexibility in work schedule and workplace
• Knowledge of Black cultural traditions from Western Canada
• Background in customer service or historical education
