Part-Time Elementary Teacher/Tutor Wanted

We are currently seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors for a role in our learning centre at Oxford Learning Whitby . This position is ideal for individuals who love working with students and enjoy teaching language, social studies, and assisting elementary learners across a range of subjects.

Position Requirements

- Work after‑school and evening hours Monday–Thursday (4:00 pm – 8:00 pm) and Saturdays (9:00 am – 1:00 pm).
- Commitment to the term ending in June; extending through summer is preferred.
- In‑person teaching only; must be able to commute to Whitby.
- Vulnerable sector screening mandatory.
- Applicants must reside in or within a short commute of the Whitby area.

Education

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience considered.
- Teaching certification is an asset.
- Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 9 curriculum.

Experience

- Experience teaching or tutoring at the Kindergarten to Grade 9 level (or equivalent).
- Strong written and oral English communication skills.




- Ability to multitask and work with up to three students simultaneously.

Responsibilities

- Teach up to three students at a time across different levels.
- Deliver instruction in both online and in‑person environments.
- Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Fill in post‑lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates.
- Maintain a friendly and qualified manner at all times.

Compensation

Part‑time; $17.20 – $18 per hour.
