Position Overview

French Teacher/Tutor Wanted – Oxford Learning Edmonton Windermere, Edmonton, Alberta. Employment type: Part‑time. Pay: $18.00 per hour.

Position Requirements

- After‑school and evening hours (4:00 pm – 8:00 pm) and some Saturdays (10:00 am – 3:00 pm). Preference for commitment until the end of the school year and through summer.
- Strong background in spoken and written French and English. Ability to teach up to Grade 9 level; Grade 12 preferred. Instruction must be in French.
- In‑person position; commutable to Edmonton. No relocation packages available.
- Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education

- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience considered.
- Teaching certification an asset.
- Valuable knowledge of the current Grades 9‑12 French core curriculum.

Experience

- Some experience teaching/tutoring French at Grade 9‑12 (or equivalent) level.




- Strong English written and oral communication skills.
- Strong French skills and ability to guide student understanding.
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.

Responsibilities

- Teach up to three students at a time at different levels.
- Conduct sessions in French (in‑person, teaching online not applicable).
- Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Fill in post‑lesson notes.
- Complete daily student communication updates.
- Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.
