With our state-of-the-art expansion nearing completion, we’re preparing to open at full capacity in early 2026—marking a major milestone in Calgary’s healthcare landscape.To support this growth, we’re seeking skilled and passionate Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our team. As one of Calgary’s largest urban emergency departments, we care for patients across the full spectrum of acuity. Ideal candidates will bring excellent communication, assessment, and prioritization skills, along with flexibility and a commitment to patient-centered care.Reporting to the Unit Manager, LPNs are essential members of our emergency team, providing care to patients of varying acuity. You’ll be accountable to the public for your own practice, ensuring it meets legislative requirements, and the standards set by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA).Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:
Graduate from an approved Practical Nurse program2-4 years’ experience as an LPNCurrent BLS - Heart and StrokeCurrent active practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)Minimum one (1) year nursing experience obtained within the past 2 years working greater than 0.70 FTE Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in emergency or urgent care settingAbility to work as a member of a team and to request and accept directionDemonstrates critical thinking skills, within scope of practice, including clinical judgment, problem solving skills and strong decision-making abilityDemonstrates qualified interpersonal and communication skillsDemonstrates effective time managementDemonstrates understanding of Family Centred Care philosophyUp to date ACE Modules Please note:
