Become a vital support figure in Saskatoon as a Community Outreach Worker with the Persons Living with AIDS Network. Engage with communities facing homelessness, substance use, and health challenges.
As a part time outreach worker, you will utilize a trauma-informed and harm reduction approach, actively connecting at-risk individuals with essential services and fostering trust in challenging environments. Your role encompasses wellness checks, accessing medical services, and assisting clients in achieving personal goals like stability in housing and education. You’ll work collaboratively to ensure responsive care through accurate documentation and team interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage clients in public spaces and shelters regularly
• Conduct wellness checks for health and stability
• Connect clients to medical and community resources
• Distribute harm reduction supplies as needed
• Participate in case conferencing and team meetings
Requirements:
• Experience with vulnerable populations and community resources
• Effective interpersonal communication
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Basic computer skills for documentation
• Capacity to handle crisis situations with awareness
