The Opportunity Métis Crossing is seeking a customer focused and organized Restaurant/Banquet Supervisor. Reporting to the Guest Experience Manager, the Restaurant/Banquet Supervisor will lead and support the Culinary team and ensure exceptional guest experiences. This person will be overseeing dining and events, working with the Executive Chef, ‘back-of-house’ and ‘front-of-house’ teams. Key Responsibilities Oversee dining and event operations, ensuring timely, coordinated, and professional service. Perform quality checks during meals and events to ensure satisfaction and resolve any guest concerns immediately. Oversee organization practices in the restaurant and event department. Monitor and maintain all supply inventories and issue supplies as needed. Support budget monitoring and record keeping Resolve guest concerns promptly, professionally, and in a diplomatic manner. Collaborate on staffing responsibilities and perform Team Lead duties including training team members and assigning job duties. Ensure service standards, uniforms, grooming, and sanitation are consistently maintained. Encourage a positive, collaborative environment that celebrates Métis culture. Ensure the team is trained in all company standards. Ensure tables, décor, and service align with event specifications and brand standards. Support compliance with Alberta Health Services standards.



Maintain WHMIS and food handling certifications. Participate in safety and sanitation inspections. Model Métis hospitality in all guest interactions. Other duties as required and assigned. Excellent communication skills with ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Fluency in English is required. Exceptional customer service and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with coworkers, guests, etc. Cultural sensitivity and an ability to promote an inclusive environment exemplified by understanding all cultural groups. Experience in discussing performance issues with team members and providing direct and honest feedback when discussing career advancement and leading performance expectations. Self-motivated team player with demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills. High level of professionalism, integrity, and work ethic. Aware of and understands how all areas of the business interact and how the culinary department impacts and is impacted by other areas. Understanding of legislation and regulations (i.e., WCB and employment standards) as they apply to the Culinary department. Strong computer skills, advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required. Demonstrated ability to work in a rapid paced, multi-tasking, multi-functional team environment. Ability to handle difficult situations with a calm, professional demeanor. Excellent time management and organization skills. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Hospitality or equivalent combination of education and experience an asset. Demonstrated ability to lead and train front-of-house teams. Solid understanding of food service standards, menu knowledge, and guest relations. Experience coordinating or supporting catering and events. Experience working with Indigenous or culturally focused organizations is an asset. Minimum 2 years of experience in a Team Lead role. Level C First Aid/CPR would be an asset.
