We’re looking for an enthusiastic tutor to work after‑school, evenings, and occasional Saturdays in our learning centre. The role is in‑person; relocation packages are not available.
Position Requirements
- Work hours: 4:00 pm‑8:00 pm after‑school and evenings; some Saturday shifts (10:00 am‑3:00 pm) . Commitment until the end of the school year is preferred; continuing through summer is even better.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Must be able to commute to Oxford Learning Orangeville.
- Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience are considered.
- Teaching certification is an asset.
- Good knowledge of the current Grades 9‑12 math and science curriculum, including advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, vectors, physics, chemistry, and biology.
Experience
- Some experience teaching or tutoring math and science at a Grade 9–12 (or equivalent) level.
- Strong English written and oral communication skills.
- Strong math skills and the ability to guide students’ understanding.
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.
Responsibilities
- Teach up to three students at a time at different levels.
- Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Fill in post‑lesson notes.
- Complete daily student communication updates.
- Maintain a friendly and skilled manner at all times.
