The Externs will work at one of the St. Joseph's Health Care sites.Reporting to the Professional Practice Partnership Program, the Clinical Extern (occupational therapy) will work part‐time hours. October 2026Essential QualificationsStudent in Occupational Therapy enrolled in an academically accredited Occupational Therapy post‐secondary program.Current certificate in Basic Cardiac Life SupportAbility to work independently in patient care areas with direct and indirect supervision from a health professionalAbility to aid with activities of daily living, ROM, mobility, and orientation under the supervision of a regulated health professionalDemonstrated ability to be self‐directed and the ability to work as part of a teamKnowledge of a safety culture in a health care setting in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.Demonstrated problem‐solving, organizational, and time‐management skillsAbility to apply effective body mechanics and lift and transfer skills to meet physical demandsEffective written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated flexibility and organizational skillsTeaching and ResearchSt. Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital.
