Job Description

Perform resistance spot welding on metal components according to drawings and specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, templates, and work orders. Set up, adjust, and operate spot-welding machines, ensuring proper heat, pressure, and timing. Inspect welded joints for strength, accuracy, and appearance, making adjustments as needed. Assemble parts, reinforcements, brackets, and hardware, and prepare components prior to welding. Maintain a clean, protected, and organized work area in compliance with workplace safety standards. Address equipment issues and report them to maintenance or supervision. Assist with material handling, bundling, tagging, and staging of finished products. Support continuous improvement efforts in quality, efficiency, and workflow.

Responsibilities

Essential Skills

- 1.5 years or more of welding or metal-fabrication experience (spot welding preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Familiarity with steel fabrication processes.




- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Basic math and measurement skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience in continuous improvement efforts is a plus.

Work Environment

Work in a team of four plus a lead hand on a line. As an operator, you will be responsible for the start to finish of the line. The day shift comprises 80 people on the floor, while the afternoon shift has 35 people. The shift runs from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Brampton, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
