Job Description Supporting the plant manager, the

Production Technician

actively participates in the planning and preparation of manufacturing projects. This hybrid role, balancing office and workshop tasks, allows for direct contribution to the execution of client mandates and the smooth running of production.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret

technical plans and specifications .

Prepare

submission and production files .

Create

shop drawings

using

AutoCAD 2D .

Open and track

work orders .

Calculate

required volumes

using the imperial system.

Validate project

compliance





with plans and specifications.

Prepare

laser cutting lists

and technical documents.

Communicate via email with clients and suppliers (in English as needed).

Ensure

sorting and document management

of drawings and specifications.

Collaborate closely with team members and contribute to a positive environment.

Desired Profile

Proficiency in

AutoCAD 2D

(required).

Positive knowledge of the

imperial system .

Proficiency in the

MS Office suite , particularly

Excel .

Degree in

mechanical engineering

or equivalent training.

Minimum of

2 years of experience

in steel manufacturing or processing.

Excellent plan reading skills and attention to detail.

Organization, resourcefulness, and team spirit.

Valid driver’s license.

Have a strong command of French and an intermediate level of English (spoken and written); knowledge of English is required, as the position holder must regularly communicate with clients located outside Quebec, notably in Ontario, New Brunswick, and the United States.
