About This Role

We are looking for someone with expertise and training in the world of fashion design that would be interested in supporting students (ages 12-18) in achieving their goals in the HTS Fashion Forward Program .

Students in the HTS Fashion Forward co‑curricular program are from grades 6-12. They participate in their spare time to design and create garments they have designed and sketched through part of an imaginative and exploratory process of learning. They plan and sketch their design, choose fabrics or a base garment, learn to drape on a dress form or use a pattern and learn to use a sewing machine and serger. In this program, students also have the prospect to learn about using the laser cutter and other design tech tools to make their innovative and highly creative designs. Depending on the number of years in the program, their experience ranges significantly.

Location: In person

Position Type: Contract

Compensation & Placement: Up to a maximum of $15000 for the year (based on an hourly rate of $20.00/hour ).

No AI is used for screening, assessment, or selection.

The role would ideally entail being at HTS in Richmond Hill, 3-5 pm each weekday, however, there is some flexibility with hours for anyone who is keenly interested.

The program would take place starting in October 2026 - June 2027.

There is some potential to serve summer programming as well, through the month of July.
