Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Complementary and Compassionate Services, the role of the Readaptation Officer is to prevent, promote, detect, and intervene in the psychosocial needs of students. The Student Support Skilled will work closely with the Regional and Local Student Counsellors, and school staff, in an aim to support the students in their personal, social and emotional development.FUNCTION & DUTIES:Meet with students individually and in groups to assess emotional and mental wellnessRespond to students at risk in the socio-affective domain and plan interventions with student counsellorsWork in conjunction with school staff to plan and deliver early prevention activities using a trauma informed lens that will aid the student's, social, emotional and mental well-beingPrepare monthly reports and document interventions related to specific students in a confidential fileProvide ongoing mentoring with collaboration of student counsellorsDevelop effective liaisons with local community organizationsIn crisis situations in the school and/or community, activate and assist with the KI crisis response protocolInvolve parents or guardians in activities, programs and interventions where possibleConsult with teachers on appropriate techniques and strategies of a therapeutic classroomAny other related duties as requested by the immediate supervisor.QUALIFICATIONS:First level University Degree in a relevant specialization notably, psychoeducation, social work, youth work, etc.The Board may, at its discretion,
