An international law firm recognized for its litigation expertise is seeking a lawyer to join its Montreal office. The firm advises businesses, insurers, organizations and private sector stakeholders in complex civil and commercial disputes, often involving significant strategic and technical issues.

The Role

As a Civil & Commercial Litigation Lawyer, you will actively participate in the management of complex litigation matters from inception through resolution, working closely with partners and senior lawyers.

You will be involved in litigation strategy development, evidence management, examinations, court appearances and collaboration with experts, clients and various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

- Participate actively in the management of civil and commercial litigation matters
- Work on files involving civil liability, construction, complex claims and contractual disputes
- Participate in the development of litigation strategies tailored to legal and business issues
- Draft proceedings, factums and other court materials
- Participate in examinations, mediations, arbitrations and trials




- Work closely with experts to prepare and present client positions
- Analyze complex legal, factual and technical issues
- Maintain direct relationships with clients and other stakeholders

- Participate in the strategic development and management of files

Requirements

- Member in good standing of the Québec Bar
- 1 to 3 years of relevant civil or commercial litigation experience
- Strong interest in complex and strategic matters
- Solid legal drafting, analytical and communication skills
- Excellent strategic, negotiation and advocacy abilities
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Professional judgment, rigor and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset
- Ability to thrive in a demanding and fast-paced environment
- Bilingualism in French and English
