This role involves fostering a supportive setting within Therapeutic Living Units at the Red Deer Remand Centre. Utilizing evidence-based care, you will assist members in their recovery journey, helping to reduce recidivism and promote rehabilitation. Your interaction will include leading group sessions, motivating members during recreational activities, and facilitating recovery meetings for peer support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide ongoing encouragement and care for members
• Engage in therapy sessions and work-as-therapy activities




• Lead recovery meetings like AA and NA for member support
• Monitor member progress and report to TLU Lead
• Assist clinical staff during crisis situations
Requirements:
• Previous experience in caregiving or support roles
• Strong communication skills with diverse individuals
• Familiarity with substance use disorders and mental health
• Ability to manage sensitive situations with empathy
• Lived experience in addiction recovery preferred
