A Deli Bakery Associate at Walmart Canada provides exemplary customer service by adhering to the basic beliefs and values of Walmart, maintains and zones the Bakery and/or Deli area, and assists with stocking and the sale of goods.

Responsibilities

- Zones the department to ensure product shelves, tables and bunkers are organized and product is in the correct location
- Rotates stock and checks for expired products
- Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced
- Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates
- Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; preparing hot food merchandise and providing requested assistance
- Prepares deli food orders utilizing utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven; and fills prepared side dishes for placement into display area




- Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls
- Follows proper procedures for ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels

Requirements

- Flexible availability including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and nights
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work as part of a team in a rapid-paced workplace
- Attention to detail with respect to food safety, labelling, and stock rotation

Pay

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $16.45 per hour.
