We’re looking for an Assistant Human Resource Manager to support a variety of people-focused initiatives across our organization. In this role, you’ll partner with restaurant and office leaders to support recruitment, employee engagement, employer branding, recognition programs, communications, company events, and other HR initiatives that help create an exceptional employee experience. Working collaboratively across departments and with restaurant operations, you’ll help develop resources, support HR programs and partnerships, promote best practices, and contribute to initiatives that strengthen The Keg’s culture and reputation as an employer choice. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, relationship-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate brings strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Key Responsibilities
Support recruitment initiatives across restaurant and corporate operations Develop and maintain recruitment resources, interview guides, and hiring tools Partner with leaders to identify staffing needs and support recruitment planning Build and maintain relationships with educational institutions, employment agencies, and industry partners Support recruitment initiatives for new restaurant openings and employer branding activities Employee Experience & Engagement
Support employee recognition programs, retention initiatives, and culture-building activities Coordinate employee events, employee engagement activities,
and recruitment initiatives Help create programs and resources that enhance the employee experience across all locations Support communication initiatives that promote employee engagement and company culture Communications & Social Media
Support The Keg’s employee-facing communications and social media channels Develop and coordinate content that promotes employee recognition, engagement, company culture, and internal events Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure messaging remains relevant and engaging What You Bring
Diploma or degree in Human Resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum 3 years of recruitment, human resources, or related people-focused experience Minimum 3 years of leadership or management experience Experience supporting recruitment initiatives, employee programs, or HR projects Strong knowledge of human resources best practices and employment-related processes Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels Robust organizational, planning,
and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Highly developed analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment Experience working in a fast-paced, results-focused environment Restaurant, hospitality, or multi-location operational experience is considered an asset Technical & Additional Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook Experience with recruitment platforms, HR systems, and social media management is considered an asset Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle Ability to travel occasionally within Canada and the United States Flexibility to attend occasional evening or weekend events as required Additional Information
Full-time, 18-month contract position Based out of our Toronto Eastern Office Supports restaurant and corporate locations across Canada and the United States Occasional travel may be required Standard office work environment with typical physical requirements, including extended computer use and light lifting (up to 10 lbs.) to join a collaborative Human Resources team focused on supporting our people, culture, and employee experience.
