Part‑time Elementary French & English Teacher/Tutor at Oxford Learning Hamilton, Hamilton, Ontario.
Employment type: Part Time. Pay: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels.
- Teach online and in‑person.
- Work in‑person in the learning centre (no online teaching; all lessons are pre‑planned).
- Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Fill in post‑lesson notes.
- Complete daily student communication updates.
- Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
- Teaching certification an asset.
- Valuable knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum.
- Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level.
- Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.
Schedule and Commitment
- After‑school and evening hours (3:50 pm – 7:30 pm) Monday to Friday.
- Saturdays (10:00 am – 1:00 pm).
- Commitment until the end of the term in June, with preference for continued work through the summer.
- Must be able to commute to Hamilton, Ontario; relocation packages are not available.
- Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
