Nipissing University invites applications for a Kindergarten (Part I, II and Specialist) Additional Qualification course writer and course facilitator.

Courses Available

Location: Online asynchronous

Hours: 125 hours over 12 weeks

Course Dates: February 3 to April 23, 2027

- EDUC 1245 – Kindergarten, Part I
- EDUC 2245 – Kindergarten, Part II
- EDUC 3234 – Kindergarten, Specialist

Revised courses are due to OCT early February 2027 as part of Nipissing’s accreditation cycle. The successful applicant will work directly with the In‑Service Education team to provide renewal documents by early January 2027.

Financial Compensation for course facilitation

Instructor compensation is calculated on a sliding scale based on enrolment. Courses are combined for enrolment payment. Compensation is $350 per student until enrolment reaches 20. Additional students beyond 20 are an additional $120 per student.

Financial Compensation for course development

$750 per course.

Qualifications

- Member of the Ontario College of Teachers in positive standing.
- Masters degree and/or Specialist designation in the subject area.
- Educational leadership experience, theoretical knowledge in the field of instruction and assessment.
- Knowledge of current research, curriculum, programs and policies in education in Ontario.
- Demonstrated understanding of collegial adult learning principles.
- Experience facilitating online discussion, knowledge building and collaboration.
- Strong organization skills, time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Previous curriculum writing experience an asset.

Duties





- Responsible for all instruction and evaluation for the course(s) to which they are assigned.
- Will be available to meet with course candidates in a timely and flexible manner as part of the online asynchronous learning environment.
- Complete mandatory training requirements, review and follow Nipissing University’s policies and procedures.
