Part-Time Elementary English/French Teacher/Tutor

Oxford Learning Hamilton is looking for part‑time teacher‑tutors to work with students after school and on Saturdays. This position is great for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys teaching language, and is passionate about helping others build their skills.

Tutor‑teachers do not need to lesson plan before class as all lessons are pre‑planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements

- Work after‑school and evening hours (3:50 pm – 7:30 pm) and Saturdays (10:00 am – 1:00 pm).
- Commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred; continuing through the summer is even better.
- Reliable, in‑person presence required – commutes to Hamilton only. No relocation package available.
- Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education

- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
- Teaching certification an asset.
- Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum.

Experience





- Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level.
- Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
- Ability to multitask and work with up to three students at a time.

Responsibilities

- Teaching up to three students at different levels.
- Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Filling in post‑lesson notes and completing daily student communication updates.
- Maintaining a friendly and qualified manner at all times.
