What you will do
• Oversee day-to-day café operations during assigned shifts and help ensure the café opens, operates, and closes in an
organized manner.
• Direct routine workflow for Café Coordinators and Café Staff, assign duties, support break coverage, and reinforce
service expectations.
• Provide professional customer service, resolve routine service concerns, and support efficient customer flow during busy
periods.
• Process and oversee approved POS, cash, debit, credit, refund, discount, and reconciliation procedures.
• Monitor food and beverage presentation, freshness, holding temperatures, stock rotation, expiry dates, and established
nut-free procedures.
• Coordinate restocking and receiving; verify deliveries for quantity, accuracy, condition, and proper storage.
• Monitor inventory levels, packaging, cleaning supplies, and operating sundries; report shortages, damage, or unusual
discrepancies.
• Verify cleaning, sanitation, handwashing, food-handling, and workplace-safety procedures are followed.
• Complete shift notes, checklists, incident records, and basic operational reporting as assigned.
• Escalate significant customer, staffing, maintenance, food-safety, or operational concerns to management.
What you bring
• Previous café, food-service, hospitality, retail, or customer-service experience; lead-hand or shift-lead experience is
strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and provide respectful day-to-day direction to team
members.
• Comfort using POS systems, handling transactions, and completing routine cash procedures.
• Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, inventory rotation, and safe food handling.
• Food Handler Certification is preferred; willingness to complete employer-required food-safety training is required.
• Reliable, professional, punctual,
and able to work independently when senior management is not on-site.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely perform routine stocking, cleaning, and light lifting associated with café
operations.
