Salary Range: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Evenings (Monday to Friday), Saturdays (10:00 AM – 3:00 PM), and some evenings (4:00 PM – 8:00 PM).
Position Overview
Oxford Learning is a Canadian supplemental education provider. We are seeking a part‑time teacher‑tutor to work at our learning centre in Coquitlam. The role is in‑person and requires the ability to commute; relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
- Must be able to commute to the Coquitlam location.
- Commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred and continuing through summer is even better.
- Reliable and punctual in all scheduled shifts.
- No online work; this is an in‑person role.
Responsibilities
- Teach up to three students simultaneously at different levels.
- Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Fill in post‑lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates.
- Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.
- Teach both in‑person and online sessions (if required).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field.
- Teaching certification is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of grades 9‑12 math (Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Vectors) and science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) curricula.
- Experience teaching or tutoring students at grades 9‑12 (or equivalent).
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English.Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students simultaneously.
