Position Overview

Oxford Learning North York Willowdale is seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors to provide in‑person instruction in math and science for high school students. Pre‑planned lessons are provided; teachers receive full training in the company’s pedagogical philosophy.

Position Requirements

- Availability during after‑school and evening hours (3:00 pm – 8:00 pm)
- Available for a minimum of 2 evenings per week
- Commitment through the end of the 2026‑2027 school year (June 30), with possible summer extension
- In‑person instruction required
- Must be able to commute to the designated location; relocation packages not available
- Mandatory vulnerable sector screening

Education

- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
- Teaching certification is an asset
- Good knowledge of current Grades 9‑12 math and science curriculum, including but not limited to Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, vectors, physics,



chemistry, and biology

Experience

- Some experience teaching/tutoring math and science at Grades 9‑12 (or equivalent) level
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Responsibilities

- Teach up to three students simultaneously at different levels
- Conduct both online and in‑person sessions
- Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Complete post‑lesson notes
- Provide daily student communication updates
- Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times
