This position is responsible for developing accurate estimates, managing subcontractor pricing, supporting preconstruction activities, identifying project risks and opportunities, and contributing to competitive bid strategies across a variety of project delivery models.Work on diverse delivery models including CM, Design-Build and Hard BidCollaborate with experienced project and preconstruction teamsInfluence project strategy from budgeting through tender closeParticipate in value engineering and project development initiativesBuild strong industry relationships with clients and subcontractorsWork from the Edmonton, Alberta office locationTotal rewards: $110000.00 - $150000.00 annuallyA typical day:Develop detailed estimates, takeoffs and pricing for self-performed and subcontracted workSolicit and evaluate pricing from subcontractors and suppliersReview drawings,



specifications and contract documents for scope requirementsIdentify project risks, opportunities and competitive pricing strategiesPrepare preliminary construction schedules for estimate developmentLead estimate reviews, tender closings and bid submissionsSupport post-tender negotiations and preconstruction planning activitiesMaintain estimating databases, historical costs and labour pricing informationSuccessful candidates will have:Hold a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related disciplinePossess or be eligible for PQS or CET designationDemonstrate 10+ years of estimating experience on ICI construction projects over $50MApply extensive knowledge of estimating methods, tendering and contract negotiationsInterpret construction drawings, specifications and technical documentationUtilize estimating software including Timberline and On-Screen TakeoffMaintain solid proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and AdobeBuild effective relationships while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
