Senior Legal Counsel, Labour and Employment provides strategic direction and ensures the provision of quality legal services in a cost-effective and timely manner.Job ResponsibilitiesRepresent Canada Post in all forms of labour and employment law litigation (with a focus on defending grievances concerning the terminations of employment).Provide proactive, practical and strategic legal advice to management to solve business problems and reduce legal risk.Mentor Counsel and Paralegals on the Legal Affairs team.Manage external counsel in civil litigation and administrative law matters, to ensure quality and value.Conduct research and prepares legal opinions on various legal issues.QualificationsEducationLaw degree from a recognized institution and membership in good standing with Barreau du Québec.ExperienceStrong communication skills, proven leadership and mentorship capabilities, and the ability to work independently; andMotivation,aptitude as a self-starter, and the ability to "hit the ground running" in the current position.Minimum five years' experience as principal counsel in labour law litigation, with a particular focus on grievance arbitration.)Other Candidate RequirementsStrong oral and written communication skills in both French and English.Travel,
